The day you switch. You change link provider, or you get a new tag. Every link you have ever posted is now the old one.
Hundreds of posts. And they are scattered. Old deals posts, YouTube descriptions, Pinterest pins, Benable lists.
This finds and swaps them. Relink Butler goes and finds them, works out the new version of each, and shows you before it changes anything.
It is properly in beta. Read this bit. It is early, and in the normal installed app everything below is look but do not touch for now.
Nothing has run. And this is the state. Idle. It only does something when you ask it to.
Four kinds of swap. There are four jobs it can do, and picking the right one is most of the work.
Changing link service. The first is changing service. You moved from one link shortener to another and want everything re-pointed.
Changing your tag. The second is just your Amazon tag. Same links, different tag on the end.
Type the new one. And that is where the new tag goes.
Re-minting. The third builds brand new links through a network like Levanta, rather than editing the ones you have.
Pick the network. You choose the network and the marketplace, and it mints fresh links for each product.
Plain find and replace. And the fourth is the blunt one. Find this piece of text, put that instead. Useful when nothing else fits.
Back to the common one. For most people the first option is the one. Let us put it back.
Where to look. Now where. Four places it can search, and only your deals posts are ticked to start with.
Start with deals only. Leave it that way for your first run. Deals is the only one it can change without opening a browser.
The other three open Chrome. YouTube, Pinterest and Benable all need a real browser signed into your account to edit a published post.
Preview changes nothing. Then Preview. This is the safe one. It reads, works out the swap, and writes nothing anywhere.
Read the table. Afterwards you get a row per link. The old one on the left, the proposed one on the right.
Nothing is pre-approved. And here is the thing to know. Nothing is ticked for you. You approve each row you want, one at a time.
Then Apply. Apply only touches rows you approved. It stays greyed out until you have approved at least one.
There is no going back. And there is no undo. The old link is overwritten in place. Nothing keeps a copy of it.
What it will not fix. It also will not fix links to products that died, and it cannot see links you posted by hand outside the app.
So, the order. Set up the new provider first. Then deals only, preview, read every row, approve a few, apply. Widen from there.
Relink Butler is for the day you change how your links are built. A new Amazon tag, a new link service, or a whole new deep link provider leaves every post you have already published pointing at the...
