Know Your Baseline Before Prime Big Deal Days
You cannot tell if the event worked if you never wrote down where you started. Here is the five-minute snapshot to take now so October actually teaches you something.

After Prime Big Deal Days, you will want to know one thing: did it actually move the needle? You can only answer that if you wrote down where the needle was pointing before it started. Almost nobody does, which is why almost nobody really knows what their events earn them.
Take five minutes today and capture your baseline.
The four numbers that matter
Write these down somewhere you will find them again in two weeks:
- Your last full ordinary week of earnings. Not a big week, not a dead week, a normal one. This is what the event has to beat.
- Your storefront clicks or views for that same week. Traffic is the leading indicator; earnings follow it.
- Your follower or subscriber count today, on whichever platform you push hardest.
- How many pieces of deal content you post in a normal week. During the event you will post far more, and it helps to know the multiple.
That is the whole snapshot. Four lines in a note.
Why the boring version beats the fancy version
You do not need a dashboard or a spreadsheet with formulas. You need a fixed point. When the event ends and the numbers roll in, "we earned $840 this week versus $310 in a normal week" is a real result you can act on. "It felt busy" is not.
The comparison also protects you from the opposite mistake: assuming a good week was the event when it was really just a good week. Your baseline keeps you honest in both directions.
Set one target while you are here
With your baseline written down, pick a number you would be genuinely happy to hit. Doubling a normal week is an aggressive, motivating goal for a two-day event. Write it next to your baseline.
A target turns the event from a blur of posting into something you can win or lose against. And when you win it, you will have a documented number to build next quarter's plan on, instead of another vague good feeling that fades by November.
Five minutes now. A real answer later. Take the snapshot before the rush starts.
